Employment Services Christian Appalachian Project Resources for
Independence in Community and Employment (CAPRICE) -CAPRICE is a non-profit organization that provides diversified daily living skills training to individuals, preparing them to enter employment and/or function more independently in their homes nad communities. They also promote the Supported Employment program for the independence and self-sufficiency of individuals with disabilities. Services include: Counseling information, Transportation information, Community Life Skills Job readiness, Education (math, reading, Self-care/daily living skills time management), Referral Advocacy, Recreation, Sign language/communication, Health and Safety Interpreting information, Literacy training and Money Management The Job Shop -Offers temporary and permanent placement for employment along with training for interviews and skills testing. KCEOC Workforce Investment Act -JTPA assists persons 16 years and older who
have been out of work for at least 6 months to find temporary employment and job
retraining. JTPA is available for persons with low income, poor work histories, and
highschool dropouts. They also provide GED referral and assistance. Kentucky Department for Employment Services -Serves Clay, Jackson, Knox, Laurel, Rockcastle, and Whitley counties by providing referral and placement services, assistance to veterans with job training and placement, unemployment insurance, and assistance to KTAP recipients with job training and placement. |
